As a key addition to this historic market town’s hospitality offering, the project required a high-standard finish across an 80-bed development, ensuring the building was guest-ready and aligned with the iconic Premier Inn brand.

The brief
Working alongside Compass Developments’ construction team, Davison Solutions was tasked with executing the full internal decoration for the new-build site. The scope was extensive, covering 80 bedrooms, including the enhanced Premier Plus room specifications, as well as all communal corridors, stairwells, and the integrated bar and restaurant facilities.
The primary challenge was to deliver a finish that could withstand the high-traffic demands of a busy hospitality environment while maintaining the sleek, modern aesthetic of the Premier Inn brand. Precision was essential, particularly in the Premier Plus rooms, where elevated design details required a meticulous touch to differentiate the premium guest experience.
The solution
To meet the project’s demands for longevity and quality, we utilised our experienced team of commercial decorators to manage a phased rollout across the 80-room site. Collaboration with the main contractor and our supply chain partners, Dulux Trade and Newmor Wallcoverings, was vital to ensure a high-quality finish and to keep the project on schedule for the hotel’s grand opening.

- We applied Dulux Trade Diamond range paints throughout the hotel. This was a strategic choice for the hospitality sector, as the Diamond range offers superior stain resistance and scrubbable durability, ensuring the walls remain pristine despite frequent guest turnover.
- In the corridors and feature areas, we installed Newmor wallcoverings. These heavy-duty, contract-quality finishes were selected to add texture and visual interest while providing an extra layer of protection against luggage scuffs and trolley impact.
- We dedicated specific attention to the Premier Plus rooms, delivering the high-specification finishes and crisp colour transitions that define this upgraded room tier.
- Our team managed the decoration of the bar and restaurant areas, coordinating with other trades to ensure a seamless finish in the hotel’s most visible social spaces.
