We were appointed to deliver the full internal and external decoration package for the brand-new Insomnia Cookies store in Newcastle city centre. The works formed an important part of the final fit-out, helping turn the new premises into a bright, welcoming space ready for opening.
Known for its warm, freshly baked cookies and late-night delivery service, Insomnia Cookies has built a distinctive brand around a youthful identity and a fun customer experience. The Newcastle store needed a finish that matched that personality while meeting the high standards expected of a new commercial premises.
The brief
Insomnia Cookies needed a decorating team that could bring its recognisable visual identity into the new Newcastle store, both inside and out. And for this job, they chose the team at DS Painting & Decorating.
The project included decoration to the shopfront and external façade, as well as internal works throughout the store. The front-of-house areas needed to feature Insomnia’s bright brand colours prominently, creating a fun and instantly recognisable look that customers associate with the business.
The ceiling also required spraying to achieve a clean, consistent finish across the space. As part of the final fit-out phase, all decorating works needed to be completed to a professional trade standard and coordinated carefully with the wider programme so the store could open as planned.
The solution
Our team carried out the full decorating package, starting with thorough preparation of the surfaces before any finishing work began. Filling, sanding, and priming provided the right foundation for the final coatings, while careful application helped achieve a consistent finish throughout the store.
Externally, we decorated the shopfront and façade, giving the new premises a strong and polished presence within the city centre. Inside, our decorators applied Insomnia Cookies’ bright brand colours across the front-of-house areas, helping create the lively environment the brand is known for.
We also carried out ceiling spraying to give the overhead surfaces a clean, uniform appearance. This helped tie the different areas of the store together while providing a crisp backdrop for the colourful branded elements.
Working with Dulux Trade products, we delivered the decoration works as part of the final fit-out programme, coordinating our activity with the wider project to keep everything moving towards opening day.
